The Missing Piece & the Big O - Shel Silverstein
Big O:

Milan Kundera's Quotations

"The brain appears to possess a special area which we might call poetic memory and which records everything that charms or touches us, that makes our lives beautiful ... Love begins with a metaphor. Which is to say, love begins at the point when a woman enters her first word into our poetic memory."
"When the heart speaks, the mind finds it indecent to object."
"the only relationship that can make both partners happy is one in which sentimentality has no place and neither partner makes any claim on the life and freedom of the other. "
"Love is the longing for the half of ourselves we have lost."
"Perhaps all the questions we ask of love, to measure, test, probe, and save it, have the additional effect of cutting it short. Perhaps the reason we are unable to love is that we yearn to be loved, that is, we demand something (love) from our partner instead of delivering ourselves up to him demand-free and asking for nothing but his company."
"The heaviest of burdens crushes us, we sink beneath it, it pins us to the ground. But in love poetry of every age, the woman longs to be weighed down by the man's body. The heaviest of burdens is therefore simultaneously an image of life's most intense fulfillment. The heavier the burden, the closer our lives come to the earth, the more real and truthful they become. Conversely, the absolute absence of burden causes man to be lighter than air, to soar into heights, take leave of the earth and his earthly being, and become only half real, his movements as free as they are insignificant. What then shall we choose? Weight or lightness?"
"There are no small parts. Only small actors."
"People are always shouting they want to create a better future. It's not true. The future is an apathetic void of no interest to anyone. The past is full of life, eager to irritate us, provoke and insult us, tempt us to destroy or repaint it. The only reason people want to be masters of the future is to change the past."
"The struggle of man against power is the struggle of memory against forgetting."
"I imagine the feelings of two people meeting again after many years. In the past they spent some time together, and therefore they think they are linked by the same experience, the same recollections. The same recollections? That's where the misunderstanding starts: they don't have the same recollections; each of them retains two or three small scenes from the past, but each has his own; their recollections are not similar; they don't intersect; and even in terms of quantity they are no comparable: one person remembers the other more than he is remembered; first because memory capacity varies among individuals (an explanation that each of them would at least find acceptable), but also (and this is more painful to admit) because they don't hold the same importance for each other. When Irena saw Josef at the airport, she remembered every detail of their long-ago adventure; Josef remembered nothing. From the very first moment their encounter was based on an unjust and revolting inequality."

Baby I'm A Fool
How was I to know that this was always only just a little game to you?
All the time I felt you gave your heart I thought that I would do the same for you
Tell the truth I think I should have seen it coming from a mile away
When the words you say are
"Baby I'm a fool who thinks it's cool to fall in love"
If I gave a thought to fascination I would know it wasn't right to care
Logic doesn't seem to mind that I am fascinated by the love affair
Still my heart would benefit from a little tenderness from time to time but never mind
Cos baby I'm a fool who thinks it's cool to fall in love
Baby I should hold on just a moment and be sure it's not for vanity
Look me in the eye and tell me love is never based upon insanity
Even when my heart is beating hurry up the moment's fleeting
Kiss me now
Don't ask me how
Cos baby I'm a fool who thinks it's cool to fall
Baby I'm a fool who thinks it's cool to fall
And I would never tell if you became a fool and fell in love.

Morrie's Quotes

"There is no formula to relationships. They have to be negotiated in loving ways, with room for both parties, what they want and what they need, what they can do and what their life is like."
"The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in."
"It's not to late to... ask yourself if you really are the person you want to be, and if not, who you do want to be. "
"Forgive yourself before you die. Then forgive others."
"Once you learn how to die, you learn how to live."
"You closed your eyes. That was the difference. Sometimes you cannot believe what you see, you have to believe what you feel. And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you must feel that you can trust them too-even when you are in the dark. Even when you're falling."
"As you grow old, you learn more. If you stayed at twenty-two, you'd always be as ignorant as you were at twenty-two. Aging is not just decay, you know. It's growth. It's more than the negative that you're going to die, its also the positive that you understand you're going to die, and that you live a better life because of it."
"Death ends a life, not a relationship."
"...if you're trying to show off for people at the top, forget it. They will look down on you anyhow. And if you're trying to show off for people at the bottom, forget it. They will only envy you. Status will get you nowhere. Only an open heart will allow you to float equally between everyone."
People are only mean when they're threatened, and that's what our culture does...And when you get threatened, you start looking out only for yourself. You start making money a god. It is all part of this culture."
Don't hang on too long, but don't let go too soon."
Detachment
"
What I’m doing now is detaching myself from the experience."Detaching yourself?
"Yes. Detaching yourself. And this is important - not just for someone like me, who is dying, but for someone like you, who is perfectly healthy. Learn to detach."
…
But wait, I said. Aren't you always talking about experiencing life? All the good emotions, all the bad ones?
"Yes."
Well, how can you do that if you're detached?"
"… detachment doesn' t mean you don't let the experience *penetrate* you. On the contrary, you let it penetrate you *fully*. That's how you are able to leave it.
…
Take any emotion - love for a woman, or grief for a loved one…. if you hold back on the emotions - if you don't allow yourself to go all the way through them - you can never get to being detached, you’re too busy being afraid. You’re afraid of the pain, you're afraid of the grief. You're afraid of the vulnerability that loving entails.
But by throwing yourself into these emotions, by allowing yourself to dive in, all the way, over your head even, you experience them fully and completely. You know what pain is. You know what love is. You know what grief is. … I have experienced that emotion. I recognize that emotion. Now I need to detach from that emotion for a moment."
…
"Same for loneliness: you let go, let the tears flow, feel it completely - but eventually be able to say, 'All right, that was my moment with loneliness. I'm not afraid of feeling lonely, but now I'm going to put that loneliness aside and know that there are other emotions in the world, and I’m going to experience them as well." - p.104

Brucia La Terra - The Godfather
The moon is burning in the sky
And I am burning with love
The fire that is consumed
Like my heart
My soul crys
Painfully
I'm not at peace
What a terrible night
The time passes
But there is no dawn
There is no sunshine
If she doesn't return
My land is burning
And my heart is burning
What it thirsts for water
And I thirst for love
Who will I sing
My song to
If there is no one
Who shows herself
On the balcony

Just The Way You Are
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMSclJMMV0k
Don't go changing, to try and please me
You never let me down before
Don't imagine you're too familiar
And I don't see you anymore
I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble
We never could have come this far
I took the good times, I'll take the bad times
I'll take you just the way you are
Don't go trying some new fashion
Don't change the color of your hair
You always have my unspoken passion
Although I might not seem to care
I don't want clever conversation
I never want to work that hard
I just want someone that I can talk to
I want you just the way you are.
I need to know that you will always be
The same old someone that I knew
What will it take till you believe in me
The way that I believe in you.
I said I love you and that's forever
And this I promise from the heart
I could not love you any better
I love you just the way you are.
I COULD NOT LOVE YOU ANY BETTER. I LOVE YOU JUST THE WAY YOU ARE. XO :)

Chain Poem

Especially the Poem
I believe what ever is in store for us will be for us.
Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.
And I never see my old friends face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,
He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.
And he rang mine but we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.
'Tomorrow' I say! 'I will call on Jim
Just to show that I'm thinking of him.'
But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.
Around the corner, yet miles away,
'Here's a telegram sir,' 'Jim died today.'
And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend.
Remember to always say what you mean.
If you love someone, tell them.
Don't be afraid to express yourself.
Reach out and tell someone what they mean to you.
Because when you decide that it is the right time it might be too late.
Seize the day. Never have regrets.
And most importantly, stay close to your friends
and family, for they have helped
make you the person that you are today.
You must send this on in 3 hours after reading the letter to 10 other people besides me
If you do this, you will receive unbelievably good luck.
*NOTE*
the more people that you send this to,
the better luck you will have.
SMILE, even through your tears!!!!!

The Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Leslie Cheung.
I walk along the street of sorrow,
The boulevard of broken dreams.
Where gigolo and gigolette
Can take a kiss without regret
So they forget their broken dreams.
You laugh tonight and cry tomorrow,
When you behold your shattered dreams.
And gigolo and gigolette
Awake to find their eyes are wet
With tears that tell of broken dreams.
Here is where you’ll always find me,
Always walking up and down.
But I left my soul behind me
In an old cathedral town.
The joy you find here, you borrow,
You cannot keep it long, it seems.
But gigolo and gigolette
Still sing a song and dance along
The boulevard of broken dreams.
~interlude~
Here is where you’ll always find me,
Always walking up and down.
But I left my soul behind me
In an old cathedral town.
The joy you find here, you borrow,
You cannot keep it long, it seems.
But gigolo and gigolette
Still sing a song and dance along
The boulevard of broken dreams.

House of Dreams - Sara Teasdale
And filled them every one
With tenderness and nobleness,
April and the sun.
The old empty dreams
Where my thoughts would throng
Are far too full of happiness
To even hold a song.
Oh, the empty dreams were dim
And the empty dreams were wide,
They were sweet and shadowy houses
Where my thoughts could hide.
But you took my dreams away
And you made them all come true --
My thoughts have no place now to play,
And nothing now to do.

Honoré d'URFÉ, La Sylvanire ou la Morte-vive, fable bocagère, acte I, scène I
The price of Love, is simply Love.... One must love if one wants to be loved.
But There Are Dreams That Cannot Be
I Dreamed A Dream
There was a time when men were kind,
And their voices were soft,
And their words inviting.
There was a time when love was blind,
And the world was a song,
And the song was exciting.
There was a time when it all went wrong...
I dreamed a dream in time gone by,
When hope was high and life, worth living.
I dreamed that love would never die,
I dreamed that God would be forgiving.
Then I was young and unafraid,
And dreams were made and used and wasted.
There was no ransom to be paid,
No song unsung, no wine, untasted.
But the tigers come at night,
With their voices soft as thunder,
As they tear your hope apart,
And they turn your dream to shame.
He slept a summer by my side,
He filled my days with endless wonder...
He took my childhood in his stride,
But he was gone when autumn came!
And still I dream he'll come to me,
That we will live the years together,
But there are dreams that cannot be,
And there are storms we cannot weather!
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living,
So different now from what it seemed...
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yt-IBJpEMzA
The Phantom of the Opera
But there are dreams that cannot be,到底 can be還是 cannot be,到夢醒時分就會知道,Fantine的夢,又是一椿明知不該為而為之。

Friedrich Nietzsche 's Quotation
- For men are not equal: thus speaks justice.
- What is done out of love always takes place beyond good and evil.
- Disgust with dirt can be so great that it prevents us from cleaning ourselves - from "justifying" ourselves.
- "Every man has his price." This is not true. But for every man there exists a bait which he cannot resist swallowing. To win over certain people to something, it is only necessary to give it a gloss of love of humanity, nobility, gentleness, self-sacrifice - and there is nothing you cannot get them to swallow. To their souls, these are the icing, the tidbit; other kinds of souls have others.
- No price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.
- Faith: not *wanting* to know what is true.
- Hope in reality is the worst of all evils, because it prolongs the torments of man.
- Whatever does not destroy me makes me stronger.
- There are no facts, only interpretations.
- Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

My Redeemer Lives –Dick & Rick Hoyt
Sung by NICOLE C. MULLEN
Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning?
and Who told the ocean you can only come this far?
and Who showed the moon where to hide 'til evening?
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?
Well I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives:
All of creation testifies
This life within me cry
I know my Redeemer lives, yeah.
The very same God that spins things in orbit
runs to the weary, the worn and the weak
And the same gentle hands that hold me when I'm broken
They conquered death to bring me victory
Now I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creation testify
Let this life within we cry
I know my Redeemer, He lives
To take away my shame
And He lives forever, I'll proclaim
That the payment for my sin
Was the precious life He gave
But now He's alive and
There's an empty grave.
And I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creation testify
Let this life within me cry
I know my Redeemer,
I know my Redeemer
I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
I know that I know that I know that I know that I know my redeemer lives
Because He lives I can face tomorrow
I Know I know
He lives He lives yeah, yeah I spoke with him this morning
He lives He lives, the tomb is empty,
He lives I gotta tell everybody

Love - Swami Vivekananda

This was how I saw it: "As long as you keep your hand caringly open and allow it to remain there, it will always be there. However, if you attempt to close your fingers round it and try to posses it, it will spill through the first crack it finds.
This is the greatest mistake that people do when they meet love...they try to posses it, they demand, they expect... and just like the water spilling out of your hand, love will retrieve from you .
For love is meant to be free, you cannot change its nature. If there are people you love, allow them to be free beings.
Give and don't expect.
Advise, but don't order.
Ask, but never demand.
It might sound simple, but it is a lesson that may take a lifetime to truly practice. It is the secret to true love. To truly practice it, you must sincerely feel no expectations from those who you love, and yet an unconditional caring."

Jacques Brel - Seasons in the sun ( Le moribond )
J'veux qu'on rie
J'veux qu'on danse
J'veux qu'on rie
J'veux qu'on danse
J'veux qu'on rie
J'veux qu'on danse
J'veux qu'on rie
J'veux qu'on danse
J'veux qu'on rie
J'veux qu'on danse
J'veux qu'on rie
J'veux qu'on danse
J'veux qu'on rie
J'veux qu'on danse
J'veux qu'on rie
J'veux qu'on danse
Quand c'est qu'on m'mettra dans l'trou

Seasons in The Sun - Nirvana vs Westlife
Goodbye to you my trusted friend
We've known each other since we were nine or ten
Together we've climbed hills and trees
Learned of love and ABC's
Skinned our hearts and skinned our knees
Goodbye my friend it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that spring is in the air
Pretty girls are everywhere
Think of me and I'll be there
We had joy we had fun we had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed were just seasons out of time
Goodbye Papa please pray for me
I was the black sheep of the family
You tried to teach me right from wrong
Too much wine and too much song
Wonder how I got along
Goodbye papa it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
Little children everywhere
When you see them I'll be there
We had joy we had fun we had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons have all gone
We had joy we had fun we had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons have all gone
Goodbye Michelle my little one
You gave me love and helped me find the sun
And every time that I was down
You would always come around
And get my feet back on the ground
Goodbye Michelle it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
With the flowers everywhere
I wish that we could both be there
We had joy we had fun we had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed were just seasons out of time
We had joy we had fun we had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons have all gone
We had joy we had fun we had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed were just seasons out of time
We had joy we had fun we had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons have all gone

Mae West's Witty 25!

- A woman in love can't be reasonable - or she probably wouldn't be in love.
- All discarded lovers should be given a second chance, but with somebody else.
- Anything worth doing is worth doing slowly.
- Don't cry for a man who's left you--the next one may fall for your smile.
- Don't keep a man guessing too long - he's sure to find the answer somewhere else.
- Don't marry a man to reform him - that's what reform schools are for.
- I believe that it's better to be looked over than it is to be overlooked.
- I generally avoid temptation unless I can't resist it.
- I'm single because I was born that way.
- I speak two languages, Body and English.
- I used to be Snow White, but I drifted.
- It isn't what I do, but how I do it. It isn't what I say, but how I say it, and how I look when I do it and say it.
- Its not the men in your life that matters, its the life in your men.
- It takes two to get one in trouble.
- Ladies who play with fire must remember that smoke gets in their eyes.
- Look your best - who said love is blind?
- Love conquers all things except poverty and toothache.
- Sex is an emotion in motion.
- The score never interested me, only the game.
- There are no good girls gone wrong - just bad girls found out.
- Those who are easily shocked should be shocked more often.
- Too much of a good thing can be wonderful.
- When I'm good I'm very, very good, but when I'm bad, I'm better.
- Whenever I'm caught between two evils, I take the one I've never tried.
- You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
